Cyber Bullying:Bullying through digital technology (EX. Facebook, Twitter, Email, etc.) Keep copies of this or any text messages that they may send you.
Verbal Bullying: This type of bullying is the hardest to prove because there is no physical evidence, unless someone manages to record the incident. The best thing to do in this case is to keep a log of who bullied you, where you were, what time it was and what was said. If they threaten you, however, please tell someone immediatly.
Bullying Parents: It is a common misconception that only children and teens are bullied but many adults are bullied and many parents bully one another. Unfortunatly, many kids follow their parents example and, hence, the cycle continues.
Physical Bullying:Physical bullying is what most people think of when they hear bullying. This is when people get beaten-up. This is NOT ok. Even if it's part of a hazing, it is still illegal. If someone harms you physically, please seek medical care as soon as possible. Even if no one saw you get hurt (other than the bully, of course) your injuries will be treated and documented. The fact that it's documented means that you can hold off on pressing charges if you don't feel quite comfortable with that. Since it is in writing, it will always be there.
Female Bullying: Another misconception is that bullies are usually male. Believe it or not, female bullies are becoming a bigger and bigger problem. For the most part, females bully other females, but females can also bully males (ex. Stalking and threatning an ex-boyfriend after he broke up with her). If you are a guy being bullied by a girl, there is nothing to be ashamed of. It's more common than you think and if you tell a trusted adult, chances are they won't make-fun of you and, if they do, they're one of the few and are just as bad as the bully is. Don't keep quiet in an attempt to preserve your 'manhood'. Your safety and well-being is much more important than some trivial label.
